Michael's Letter

Dear .....

I'm in Bangkok on some damn boat in the middle of a sweaty ass market. Some thai lady is trying to sell me a knock-off Hixe hoodie, while I'm sipping on some sweetttttt coconuts.

Anyway, I heard you're trying to create a clothing brand like every other person in their 20's. Well done.

Your Mum messaged me the other day. Going on about how you're 25, with no uni degree, no career plan and wonders why you're still pursuing dance and putting so much time and effort into a clothing business that probably won't work.

Well... it worked for me and now Hixe is one of the biggest clothing brands in the world.

There's this secret that I found whilst travelling. It's the secret to create eternal happiness and success. I've met with massive CEO's of the world's most successful clothing companies, the worlds happiest people from Fiji and even Global Icons like Tyler The Creator and Alex 'Lil Clout" Choy.

What they all have in common is a trait that is found in all happy successful people. The thing that drives them to keep going in the pursuit of their dreams and the thing that gets them through the feeling of lost and hopelessness.

The secret they all have in common is to:

BE AUTHENTIC TO YOUR TRUE SELF AND FEARLESSLY CHASE YOUR WILDEST DREAMS.

I know you're super stressed about life right now and you're still figuring everything out with this brand. But when you're ready to release your art out in the world, make sure it's coming from a real place. A place that holds no judgement or fear. A place that allows you to connect to your power and be real with yourself.

Tell the stories that define the people of this world one piece of clothing at a time.

Stories that encourage everyone to chase their dreams, do whatever they want and feel how they want to feel.

Make a brand on the basis of what you want to do. If you really just want to make nice af clothes that you like or make videos that allow people to feel understood. DO IT.

I don't want you to just make another brand that sells the feeling of looking "cool". I want you to create something real, something deep and authentic that people can relate to and to know their thoughts and actions are all part of a journey to be their true selves.

Here's a few photos of me and my dear friends from my first ever campaign shoot. I use these to remind me of how far I've come and to believe in myself no matter how big the dream. Surround yourself with people who support you and believe in you and you will achieve everything you want from this world.

That there is how you live a dope ass life,

Michael
